Menma (Meiko Honma)
Voiced by: Ai Kayano
When Menma reappears to Jintan, she seems to have grown older, yet still carries the sweet, kind qualities she had as a child. She claims she has a wish she wants granted, but she doesn't know what it is, and her efforts are directed mainly at getting the now-estranged group of friends back together.

Jintan (Jinta Yadomi)
Voiced by: Miyu Irino
Jintan was a bold and energetic child, but has since become angry and withdrawn, refusing to attend school and avoiding the outside world whenever possible. When Menma first appears before him, he takes it as a manifestation of his internal stress and trauma.

Anaru (Naruko Anjo)
Voiced by: Haruka Tomatsu
Anaru was always jealous of Menma's looks and easygoing personality, as well as her close relationship with Jintan, even as a child. But despite their strained relationship over the years, Anaru still has feelings for Jintan, which conflict with her guilt over what happened to Menma.

Yukiatsu (Atsumu Matsuyuki)
Voiced by: Takahiro Sakurai
Yukiatsu grew up as a cold and distant child. Like Anaru, he was jealous of Jintan's relationship with Menma, as well as Jintan's assumed leadership role. Yukiatsu still struggles with Menma's fate, and his cool demeanor dissolves any time someone mentions her name.

Tsuruko (Chiriko Tsurumi)
Voiced by: Saori Hayami
Tsuruko was a quiet and observant child. She learned to watch others and intuit their unspoken feelings, although she tends not to mention them (or her own feelings) to others. Once the group reunites, she begins to open up and attempt to heal herself as well as the others.

Poppo (Tetsudo Hisakawa)
Voiced by: Takayuki Kondo
Poppo has always been oblivious to the emotional undercurrents in the group, focusing only on having fun with the others. He ends up traveling the world, and in between trips he lives in the old secret base. He accepts Menma's presence without question and devotes all his energy to helping grant her wish.
